About Mr. Hamilton

Edward E. Hamilton is a Founding Member and Principal of Eastbridge Al Mal. Mr. Hamilton is Head of Business Development for all Real Estate Related Entities and responsible for the activities of Eastbridge Al Mal in the MENA region.

Mr. Hamilton has some 25 years of investment banking and debt capital market experience, having spent much of his career as a Managing Director at Kidder Peabody, which later became the Paine Webber Company. He was responsible for managing global fixed-income trading and distribution platforms while living in both New York and London. He has a wide range of global capital market syndication, trading, structuring, securitization, risk management, business development and capital raising experience.


Recently Held Positions

From 2006 through 2008, Mr. Hamilton was a founding partner of SAM Group, a New York-based structured asset management platform in partnership with EFG International; a Swiss-based and listed global wealth management platform with over $100 billion in managed assets. The SAM Group platform focused on raising assets under management through structured collateralized loan obligations with investment in non-investment grade corporate debt. As a Managing Partner, he was responsible for business development and managing all distribution channels, including a solution to leverage the global EFG platform, direct institutional clients and syndication efforts through global investment banking relationships.

From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Hamilton was a Senior Managing Director at Broadstreet Group, a New York-based boutique investment bank specializing in structured finance solutions across various asset classes. He was responsible for business development and distribution. While there he interpreted and negotiated clients' capital needs with respect to structuring requirements and fee structures. His efforts led to the successful underwriting of over $600 million in capital commitments, encompassing senior and mezzanine debt as well as term equity.

Historical Positions

From 2000 to 2003, Mr. Hamilton was the Principal Member of Axel Ventures, an independent financial advisory services firm focused on debt and equity capital-raising for global alternative investment solutions. The range of alternative investments included hedge funds, private equity, real estate, infrastructure and energy.

From 1987 to 1999, Mr. Hamilton was a Managing Director at Kidder Peabody and Paine Webber. He held senior management positions in both New York and London. In London, he was the Head of non-dollar financing and a member of the executive management committee, responsible for the direction, growth and overall success of the non-dollar global franchise. Mr. Hamilton developed and managed over 25 professionals globally and was responsible for $20 billion of balance-sheet risk with respect to market trading, counterparty risk management and distribution initiatives regarding all repo financing, money market and short-duration fixed income trading businesses. This platform managed risk across established and emerging economies with exposure to more than twelve global currencies.

He was instrumental in developing all distribution channels for such products on a global basis, which enabled coordinated cross-selling of fixed income products and led to the overall success of the global platform and franchise. Mr. Hamilton holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Pace University in New York.
